Last month, the Communities for Youth Boise Initiative partnered with Boise Cascade to host a Mock Interview Day designed to equip local junior high and high school students with real‑world skills for their futures—whether they’re preparing for college interviews or entering the job market for the first time.
Volunteers from Boise Cascade went above and beyond by offering not only mock interviews but also resume reviews, personalized feedback, and practical resources to help students strengthen their applications. Their support allowed participants to build their confidence in a professional, supportive environment.
After the event, one parent reached out and shared what her sons had to say about their experience:
“Both of them came back and said what valuable feedback they received… hard to get positive feedback from 17‑year‑old boys, but it looks like your program was a success.”
This partnership with Boise Cascade highlights C4Y Boise’s ongoing efforts to work with local businesses through its Youth-Friendly Business Initiative to strengthen social connection, a key factor affecting youth mental health and well-being, according to Boise's recent Youth Well-being Survey results.

By sharing their time and expertise, Boise Cascade volunteers helped create a hands‑on, youth‑friendly space where students could strengthen the skills they need to take their next steps with confidence.
Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community—one interview, one conversation, and one empowered young person at a time.
