A community is only as strong as its next generation. On January 29, 2026, Communities for Youth (C4Y) Boise and the Downtown Boise Association are inviting all local business owners and other leaders (e.g., managers, supervisors, non-profit and government employers and partners) to the official launch of Boise’s Youth-Friendly Business Initiative—a movement dedicated to helping local young people feel seen, supported, and valued by the whole Boise community.

Why Community Support Matters

By becoming a "Youth-Friendly Business" or otherwise partnering with C4Y Boise, business partners can help foster the well-being of local young people. This is especially important given the recent high rates of both mental health challenges and social isolation, as well as rising concerns over the amount of time Boise youth spend online versus doing in-person activities. The local business community can help create a Boise where young people are connected to and supported by a vibrant community.

The Youth-Friendly Kickoff Event will help build awareness of the MANY ways that local business leaders can get involved in this exciting, community-building effort.
