Boise Youth Well-Being Survey Results are in: We are continuing to focus on Social Connection for Youth

Updated: 4 hours ago

The voices of our young people have been heard. Following the recent Communities for Youth Boise Citywide vote at our January Data Walk, we are excited to announce that for the third year in a row our community will focus on increasing youth social connection.

Why Social Connection?

Data from the 2025 Idaho Youth Well-being Survey in Boise identified social connection and stress as the most significant drivers of mental health challenges for our local teens. By focusing here, we aren't just reacting to problems—we are moving “upstream,” addressing the root causes of well-being before they turn into crises.

The Path Forward

In the coming weeks, partners from Boise Communities for Youth Initiative, including Central District Health, the City of Boise, St. Luke's Community Health, schools across Boise, and many other faith, business, and youth-serving organizations will design specific goals and evidence-based activities to continue increasing social connection for Boise youth. Guided by Communities for Youth Boise, we will ensure every action we take is backed by the best available research.

How You Can Help

Real change happens when the whole community is involved. Whether you are a parent, an educator, a local business owner, or a concerned neighbor, we need your perspective.

Together, we can build a community where every young person feels connected, heard, and supported.
