As part of the effort to improve mental well-being and reduce substance use in Marsing youth, the Marsing Youth Prevention Coalition is working on raising community awareness and understanding of youth survey data and the upstream prevention approach.

Recently, a flyer was shared with parents and community members attending sporting events at Marsing schools highlighting the decrease in depression among Marsing students over the past three years and the importance of improving social connection for less depression symptoms and substance use. This flyer also noted that data shows that having a trusted adult is important for youth well-being, and that substance use is not the norm among Marsing students.

The coalition is currently working on selecting twelve additional key data points to share on flyers at upcoming school events, so be on the lookout for more results from the youth survey!
