The results are in! After community voting at the Data Walk on November 6, the Marsing Communities for Youth Initiative has identified its top priorities for supporting youth well-being:
1. Social Connection
2. Physical Activity
During the November meeting, the Marsing Project Coalition began brainstorming goals, strategies, and activities to address these focus areas. The group will reconvene in the New Year to continue building out a full plan to address these priorities. In December, a youth data walk was held with MSD students to help the coalition gather more information about the priorities and to guide their action planning in the new year.

These two priorities were highlighted as key drivers of youth mental health and well-being in this year’s survey and have been longstanding focus areas for Marsing. In fact, during the 2023–2024 school year, Marsing began exploring ways to increase physical activity opportunities for youth and has since invested in resources that families can access.
Social connection has also been a major focus. Over the past few years, the Marsing School District has hosted multiple youth and family engagement nights to strengthen community ties—just one example of the strategies implemented to support youth well-being. These efforts have been made possible in part through the SWDH PFS grant, which funds this important work.
