From Monday, February 24th, to Wednesday, February 26th, Blaine County students participated in student data walks, exploring and discussing important findings from the recent youth well-being survey. Staff from Communities for Youth visited students at Wood River High School, Wood River Middle School, Ernest Hemingway STEAM School, and Carey Public School to discuss important data trends and facilitate conversations on what youth feel matters most to their communities.

Topics like mental health, school belonging, trusted adults, and support systems sparked important conversations. Students identified areas for improvement and shared ideas on how the school and community can better support them.

Understanding how youth feel about certain mental well-being indicators is one of the major drivers for decisions on how the community will strategize and act on plans to build the best community for kids. These student conversations ensure that we truly understand the kids in the communities what their primary needs may be. By engaging students directly, Blaine County schools reinforce the idea that student voices matter.

Thank you to all who participated—your input is making a difference!
