Communities for Youth Blaine County is excited to announce that Sarah Seppa and Kirstin Emerson will serve together as the new Community Lead team for the initiative. Though they come from different professional backgrounds, they share a deep, longstanding commitment to strengthening youth mental health and well-being across Blaine County.

Two Perspectives, One Shared Vision
As a team, Sarah and Kirstin bring complementary strengths and greater capacity to advance the initiative.
Sarah brings years of clinical and community health experience from St. Luke’s Wood River, where she leads the Center for Community Health. Through her work with various mental well-being organizations, Sarah has seen firsthand how mental health shapes every facet of a person’s life. She is a firm believer that upstream prevention is the most essential tool we have for protecting our youth.
Kirstin currently serves as the Prevention Program Manager for the Mental Well-Being Initiative and brings a diverse background in recreation therapy and learning & development. With over 15 years of experience supporting individuals through mental, behavioral, and physical health challenges, she is passionate about systems thinking and the power of cultivating a true sense of belonging.
Moving Forward Together
As Community Leads, Sarah and Kirstin aim to blend Sarah’s deep community relationships and public health expertise with Kirstin’s systems-oriented approach and collaborative focus.
The initiative believes that this shared leadership model will help foster stronger connections across Blaine County and move the community toward a more unified vision where every young person feels supported, seen, and empowered.
