Schools: Sign Up for the 2026-2027 Idaho Youth Well-being Survey

Communities for Youth is excited to offer the Idaho Youth Well-being Survey (IYWS) for the 2026-2027 school year at no cost to participating schools and districts! If you are a superintendent, principal, or school leader wondering how your middle and high school students are really doing and how you support their well-being, this survey is for you. 

The IYWS measures upstream risk and protective factors that affect youth well-being and lead to outcomes like substance use, mental/behavioral health issues, or chronic absenteeism. This survey allows schools to understand root causes and get ahead of problems before they grow.

The IYWS is backed by research, designed by local Idahoans, approved by the Idaho Legislature, and fully supported by the Idaho Department of Education. It was made in Idaho, for Idaho students.

We know schools are busy, and we support schools every step of the way, from survey sign-up to parental consent and survey administration.

The survey is completely anonymous, and students are allowed to skip any questions they choose. Results are provided in aggregate, meaning no individual data is ever shared, and schools and districts own their data. This means school and district reports are not shared with anyone, including the Idaho Department of Education, without permission. 

Results are provided in as little as three weeks after survey administration, so we encourage schools and districts to sign up by Thursday, October 15, 2026. This allows plenty of time to use the data throughout the academic year.
