Communities for Youth Boise is thrilled to announce the release of our Data Snapshot for youth depression, featuring data from the 2025/2026 school year.
This snapshot provides an overview of one of the mental health areas that is affecting a high number of middle and high school students in our county and investigates risk and protective factors for it (risk factors make a negative outcome like depression more likely, while protective factors protect against it/make it less likely).
We invite you to download, print, and share this resource (available in both English and Spanish). Whether you’re a parent, teacher, coach, faith leader, student, or just a concerned community member , this data has meaning for you and can be used to help build the best possible community for Boise’s young people.
Other Youth Well-being Data Resources
The youth depression snapshot was created using data from Boise’s 2025 administration of the Idaho Youth Well-being Survey (IYWS). 2025 was the fourth year middle and high school students from across Boise have participated in this survey.
