Boise's Youth Well-Being Data in ACTION: Promoting More Sleep for Teens

Boise's Middle and High School students have been enthusiastically participating in the Idaho Youth Well-Being Survey since 2022! From the start, the critical role of sleep has been spotlighted as a key element in addressing mental health challenges for our young people. The dynamic Boise-based parent group Youth Mental Wellness Alliance (YouMeWeAll) and the proactive Boise School District have teamed up to explore the exciting possibility of shifting school start times later for middle and high school students, aiming to better protect teens' precious sleep. The Boise School District Board of Trustees will be voting soon, and your voice can make a difference in their decision! Dive into this current information provided by YouMeWeAll to discover more!
The You Me We All team has launched a great parent toolkit as well with many resources linked to local and national data around youth well-being, you can check it out on their website.
Gathering data, amplifying youth and community voices, and taking decisive action for our young folks is Upstream Prevention at its finest! The Boise Communities for Youth Initiative is thrilled about this thoughtful effort to make Boise the best possible place for our youth!
