Marsing Project Coalition Sets 2026 Goals to Support Youth Well-being

The Marsing Project Coalition (the coalition for C4Y Marsing) kicked off the new year by setting goals and outlining activities to advance them, focusing on physical activity, social connection, and decreasing youth access to substances.

Members of the Marsing Project Coalition work together to brainstorm strategies to support local youth well-being

In February, coalition members met in their workgroups to brainstorm strategies addressing the root causes of youth well‑being. These workgroups—formed based on member interest and expertise—were quick to begin shaping feasible, community‑driven activities. Below is a preview of the initiatives they have narrowed in on so far:

Goal A: Increase Self‑Confidence & Social Connection

School Level:

Counselors at each school level will conduct at least one designated one‑on‑one check‑in with every student annually to build relationships and strengthen connections.

School & Community Level:

Launch a Marsing Youth Interest Inventory to gather student ideas for clubs, programs, and skills they would like to learn. These interests will guide events and activities hosted in collaboration with the school and community partners.

Community Level:

Host teen bingo nights to encourage fun, safe opportunities for youth to connect.

Goal B: Increase Physical Activity Opportunities

The physical activity workgroup is currently focused on the quickly approaching Marsing community event, planning activities for Dr. Seuss Literacy Night. More updates on physical activity initiatives for the year will be shared soon!

Goal C: Decrease Youth Access to Substances

Family Level:

Promote tools and information to help parents start conversations with their children about the importance of not using alcohol and other drugs. These materials will be shared at parent‑focused events throughout the year.

School Level:

Increase promotion of the school’s safe reporting system through monthly reminders from school leadership and signage posted around campus.

Community Level:

Organize a community Sticker Shock event, empowering youth to remind adults that it is illegal to provide alcohol and other 21+ items to minors.
