The Teen Action Team for the Treasure Valley hosted their first Teen Tent at the Alive After 5 concert series on July 09th. Alive After 5 is a long-running event that takes place on select Wednesdays through June and July each summer in downtown Boise's Grove Plaza.

Because the Teen Action Team interns are highly focused on working with partners to increase youth social connection, they were excited to work with the Downtown Boise Association to create the Teen Tent which encourages local teens to connect to peers, family, and community. Interns mapped out the space, ordered supplies like snacks and cold drinks, helped spread the word, and hosted a variety of games and activities throughout the night of the 9th. The Teen Action Team even got a great visit and shout out from Boise Mayor Lauren McLean in recognition of their work.
Some of the many activities the teens planned.
The Teen Action Team will also be hosting a Teen Tent on the July 16th Alive After 5. All local middle/jr. high and high school students are invited to stop in for free snacks, a cold drink, games, and great company! Alive After 5 takes place from 5-8pm on the Grove Plaza (find us next to the Downtown Plays and first aid tents!).

Later this summer, the Teen Action Team will also provide the Downtown Boise Association staff with a set of broader recommendations on potential teen-friendly changes for the future as part of their work on behalf of the Communities for Youth Boise regional initiative.
