Meet Brian Smith, Community Lead for Latah County

Communities for Youth (C4Y) is excited to welcome Brian Smith as the Community Lead for the Latah County Initiative!

Brian brings a wealth of experience in education, community partnerships, and collaborative leadership. He currently serves as Principal of Paradise Creek Regional High School and Coordinator of Career Technical Education and Community Schools for the Moscow School District, where he has spent his career building connections between schools, businesses, higher education, nonprofits, and community organizations. His work has focused on creating opportunities that help young people succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Latah County Initiative Community Lead, Brian Smith

As the Community Lead for the Latah County Initiative, Brian will help bring together formal and informal community leaders to build a strong coalition dedicated to improving outcomes for youth. He will recruit and engage community partners, facilitate coalition meetings, guide strategic planning efforts, and help ensure the coalition remains focused on the needs and priorities of Latah County's young people and families. Working closely with the Community Initiative Coordinator, Brian will support the coalition as it develops and implements a shared vision for lasting community impact.

"For me, collaboration has always been at the heart of meaningful change," Brian shares. "Throughout my career, I've seen firsthand that the best opportunities for young people happen when schools, families, businesses, nonprofits, and community members work together. Communities for Youth provides an incredible opportunity to strengthen those partnerships and create lasting change across Latah County."

Brian is especially excited about building a coalition that reflects the diverse voices, perspectives, and strengths of the community. He believes Latah County is full of people who are passionate about supporting youth, and he looks forward to helping those individuals and organizations work together around common goals that will benefit young people for years to come.

When he's not working, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, staying active, and volunteering in the community. Whether through his professional work or community involvement, he is passionate about bringing people together to solve challenges, strengthen relationships, and create opportunities for others.
